7 Things You Can Do Right Now To Help Your Kids Succeed!

1.  Praise their effort, not their ability.

What does that mean?

You need to make sure that your kids know that you are proud of them for trying and not just succeeding.

2.  Have them tested by a professional.

Why this is important?

Testing can find a few things, not just if they have add or dislexia and to make sure that they are being challenged enough in their classes.

3.  Expose them to a wide array of different experiences.

Why this is effective?

They say the more the better because getting them out and seeing everything expands their thinking.

4.  Talk to their teachers on a regular basis.

This is a given. An open line of communication is always a win!

5.  Help them pursue things they’re interested in and good at.

This includes things that you aren’t necessarily interested in. Explore their interests. It is their life.

6.  Encourage them to take risks.

Kids are going to fail and teaching them to try and NOT be afraid of failure. It is going to help them grow.

7.  Don’t use labels like “gifted” around them.

Giving your child a label in front of them can actually be more harmful than helpful.
