Death Toll Rises in Louisiana due to Historic Flooding

The rain hasn’t been the least bit sympathetic to the residents of Louisiana this past week and the flooding is expected to continue despite the worst of the rain being over….

With what the state governor is referring to as historic flooding, the death toll has risen to 6 and more than 20,000 people have been rescued according to ABC News. President Obama has granted the request for a federal emergency declaration.

Curfews were set for several areas Sunday night, while officials tried to get control of the chaos. Unfortunately, the governor said it’s impossible to know the official death toll until the water recedes, but of course myself and several others are hoping that number doesn’t increase.

This is never an easy thing to witness, especially when you feel so helpless in being able to do anything. My prayers are with everyone effected directly and indirectly by the Louisiana flood.

FYI: Houston is under a Flash Flood Watch for the next 8 hours and we are expected to get pretty hammered with rain this entire week. Please be safe and remember “Turn around. Don’t Drowned!”
