Orlando’s Pulse Night Club- A Permanent Memorial

Orlando’s Mayor, Buddy Dyer is trying to negotiate with the club’s owner to buy the club and re-open it for those who would like to be able to pay their respects at any time to the victims.

“At some point the city needs to gain control [or] purchase the site,” the mayor says. “And then make some determination, with a lot of input, on what a permanent memorial could potentially look like.”

Sara Brady, the club’s spokeswoman said the club owner, Barbara Poma has already met with the mayor about the negotiation but hasn’t fully come to a decision.

The mass shooting that took place June 12 will be a moment no one will forget. Pulse night club remains closed after 49 people were killed and 53 were injured when a gunman opened fire inside the club. What are your thoughts on a permanent memorial? Should the club be torn down for the memorial?
