Singer and performer Janelle Monáe is a musician who is on a spiritual path to enlightenment. From her continuous thoughts of abundance, light and love to what she wears, there is a definite and methodological pattern she follows to reach oneness within the Universe.
Monáe spoke with our “Latina Girl” Carmen Contreras Wednesday and shared her beliefs, hopes and future plans when comes to her music.
The “Tightrope” singer who has a performance scheduled Wednesday night at the House of Blues in Houston, shared with Contreras the reason why she wears black and white. Growing up as a young girl, her mother worked as a maid. She saw firsthand the sacrifices her mother made and what she did to provide service to others. As a result of such, she was humbled and her signature black and white style pays homage to her mother and the service she provided to others, dressed in professional black and white clothing while doing such.
Monáe also talked about her new album, “The Electric Lady” as well as the spiritual path to enlightenment she willingly and lovingly travels! Click here to view pictures of Monáe inside of the HOT studios! Also click here to view video of a gift Contreras gave Monáe!
