Janelle Monàe is teasing fans with some Electric Lady surprises as the album’s September 10 release approaches.

The singer just put out a preview video for new track, “Dance Apocalyptic,” with the full-length clip set to premiere on July 2. The teaser sees Monàe performing the 1960s-inspired pop track on an American Bandstand-style stage in front of a live audience, complete with backup dancers and retro-style get-ups.

The song’s sound stands in contrast to funky Electric Lady lead single “Q.U.E.E.N.,” which Prince recently remixed.
