UPDATE (4/17/2013, 4 p.m.): Lil Wayne is still recovering at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Hospital, after suffering a series of seizures last week, the rapper’s reps confirm, echoing Wayne’s own tweet late Friday.

TMZ has photos of labelmates Drake and Birdman visiting Wayne in the hospital. (More reactions from Wayne’s collaborators and friends.)

UPDATE: Lil Wayne (or someone using his Twitter account) has tweeted out this message: “I’m good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love.”

Wire service reports confirm this assertion.

TMZ’s latest update: “Sources at the hospital tell us Wayne is still in critical condition in the ICU … but stabilizing. We’re told the prognosis is uncertain. Wayne is sleeping right now … which is odd, because he just tweeted saying he’s OK and thanking people for the prayers and love.”

UPDATE: While the original TMZ report has taken down the update regarding last rites, the site has added this statement: “Wayne’s mother is currently on a plane flying to Los Angeles — and we’re told all major decisions about Wayne’s health (including the decision to discontinue life support) will not be made until she arrives.”

Lil Wayne has a history of seizures and the last few weeks have been difficult for the rapper and music mogul.

Now there are reports from TMZ that the 30-year-old rapper, who was allegedly rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles this past Tuesday (March 12) for seizures and released Wednesday, is back at the hospital in a much more serious state.

Lil Wayne is allegedly in critical condition at the Cedars-Sinai ICU after bodyguards found him unconscious on the floor. There are supposedly indications that Wayne may have binged on “sizzurp” (promethazine/codeine cough syrup with fruity soda) after he was initially released because reports say his stomach was flushed three times to detox from high levels of codeine.

Sources for TMZ said that Lil Wayne is “unstable,” in an induced coma, and using breathing tubes while loved ones are weeping at his bedside, shaken up by the rapper’s critical condition.

As of 5:16 p.m. this evening (March 15th), TMZ reports that Lil Wayne was given his last rites with his family around him.

Young Money/Cash Money’s Mack Maine, however, has reported the opposite in his tweets, stating that “Wayne is alive and well! We watching the Syracuse game…thanks for the prayers and concern..he will update you all soon.

“We will be releasing an official statement shortly,” Maine continued, “but don’t believe the nonsense about comas and tubes to breathe…that’s false!!”

Fellow rapper and Young Money co-founder Birdman has also taken to his Twitter account to update the situation, saying “My son is in good spirit..feelin much betta…be home soon.YMCMB.”
