We spoke to our CBS Radio Houston co-worker Holly Friday morning who up until yesterday, was aboard the ill-fated Carnival Triumph. We have been reading a lot about what was going on and we wanted to confirm or deny the rumors we had read and heard.

Holly was so excited to take her first cruiseout of Galveston but on Sunday things went very wrong.  She actually slept through most of it and they started making numerous announcements over the loudspeakers about a fire.

She said “soon after” things went “downhill”.  Among some of the disastrous fire that happened on the cruise, Holly was subjected to use a bag for restroom facilities.  She also said that she had to sleep in a life jacket because you were afraid that the boat was going to tip over?

Her food choices were nothing fancy; she ate a burger and jelly sandwich.

Holly is currently in New Orleans and will be coming back to Houston on Saturday. We asked her if she would ever be able to go on another cruise and she said, “no”. We are so happy that she is safe healthy.
