Hitting stores November 6th could be one of the most interesting cover albums this year. Thanks to Orange County’s Fearless Records, fans of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe,” fun’s “Some Nights,” Gotye‘s Somebody That I Used To Know and Justin Beiber’s “Boyfriend” will likely get a shiver down their spines when they hear their favorite bubble gum pop tune completely re-imagined in Punk Goes Pop 5.

Among the tracks streaming this week is one by Tallahassee, Florida’s Mayday Parade, who applied a surprisingly gentle touch to Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know,” with help from Pierce The Veil‘s frontman Vic Fuentes.

In Upon This Dawning’s cover of Carley Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe,” the Italian metalcore band reinvents Jepsen’s pixie-like vocals as bass-rattled roars rocked by earth-shattering guitarsmanship.

Blasting this disc at ridiculous volumes is sure to send your little sister into a deep depression. Punk Goes Pop beautifully massacres 13 of today’s most popular songs.

  1. Memphis May Fire – Grenade
  2. Upon This Dawning – Call Me Maybe
  3. Mayday Parade – Somebody That I Used To Know
  4. We Came As Romans – I’m Glad You Came
  5. Like Moths To Flames – Some Nights
  6. Breathe Carolina – Billie Jean
  7. Forever The Sickest Kids – We Found Love
  8. Issues – Boyfriend
  9. The Maine – Girls Just Want To Have Fun
  10. Crown The Empire – Payphone
  11. Craig Owens – Paradise
  12. The Word Alive – Mercy
  13. Secrets – Ass Back Home

Fearless has released three tracks from this compilation so far. Get Upon This Dawning’s version of Carley Rae Jepsen’s smash “Call Me Maybe” for free here. Pick up Mayday Parade’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” and Memphis May Fire’s cover of Bruno Mars’ “Grenade.

You can also pre-order the entire album here.

Stay tuned as we’ll soon bring you the world premiere of Forever The Sickest Kids’ clever take on Rihanna’s smash “We Found Love.”
