A young woman from San Antonio was killed at the mass shooting at the premiere of “Dark Knight Rises” in Aurora, Colorado. Her stepmother has confirmed that Jessica Ghawi was one of the victims.

Jessica Ghawi was an aspiring sports caster who had recently moved to Colorado. Her brother confirmed she was one of the victims on his way to catch a flight to Colorado.

This was not Jessica’s first brush with death. She escaped a shooting in Canada at a shopping center. She wrote this in a blog on June 5th.

“I’m not an EMT or a police officer. I’m not trained to handle crime and murder. Gun crimes are fairly common where I grew up in Texas, but I never imagined I’d experience a violent crime first hand. I’m on vacation and wanted to eat and go shopping. Everyone else at the mall probably wanted the same thing. I doubt anyone left for the mall imagined they witness a shooting.”

She goes by Jessica Redfield on social media and one of her final tweets was that she was awaiting the start of the movie.
