The stars from the upcoming hit film The Hunger Games made their way to the film’s world premiere in Los Angeles, where a black carpet was rolled out instead of the iconic red. Many fans camped-out nearly 36 hours ahead of time, hoping to catch a glimpse of the stars as they hit the carpet. Many were rewarded when various actors, including star Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Katniss Everdeen, and Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins, stop by to sign autographs.

Australian actor Liam Hemsworth also attended with his never more than arms-length away girlfriend, Miley Cyrus. When asked by E! what the hardest part about filming The Hunger Games was for Hemsworth, Cyrus answered, “Being away from me.” Hemsworth plays one of the film’s main leads, Gale Hawthorne, who falls into a love triangle with Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson’s Peeta Mellark.
Director Gary Ross introduced Lawrence, Hemsworth, and Hutcherson in the theater, before the premiere began. This is only the first of three films in the franchise, but the trio of stars already seemed like old buddies. Lawrence struggled a bit in her gold gown, tripping in front of the entire audience. She played it off like a pro and hurried back to her seat before the movie began.
Despite embarking on a popular mall tour in promotion of the film, the cast is still trying to get used to their new-found rock-star status. Hutcherson was fazed when the ladies started screaming out his name.
